Presenting the Art and History of Italy

TV and Radio Interview

Chris Dobson as Expert Interviewee for TV and Radio Programmes

Historical Consultant Chris Dobson
For television and radio work Chris brings all his experience together, partly as an historian, and partly as an artist. Many years of lecturing, tours and interviews have honed his presentational skills to a high degree, and he is used to working to camera. For the BBC series ‘The Private Life of a Masterpiece’ he was employed as a consultant for the TV programme ‘The Battle of San Romano’. He also appeared in the programme, recently re-shown on Rai 5 in Italy.

His background as a working artist also gives him special insight into the various processes involved in creating the masterpieces of the Renaissance. As former Master Armourer to the Royal Armouries, he has unrivalled experience of the history, manufacture and use of armour and weapons.

Chris’s unique skill set, with his extensive knowledge of the Medieval and Renaissance Italian history, and particular knowledge of certain artists, combine to make him your ideal interviewee of the art and history of Italy, either in the studio or on location. He speaks Italian fluently.
